Resorts World Catskills Announces Expansion of Campus with New Lifestyle Hotel Featuring Dining and Entertainment Offerings

Luxury casino resort destination opens reservations for The Alder

MONTICELLO, N.Y. (November 26, 2018) – Resorts World Catskills, New York’s newest and closest casino resort to Manhattan, today unveiled plans to open the integrated campus destination’s second hospitality complex. The Alder, a new lifestyle hotel, will offer guests an exciting new way to stay and play in the heart of the picturesque Catskill Mountains. The Alder is now taking reservations and will officially open its doors in December 2018.

This new lifestyle hotel will offer a host of exciting amenities and offerings to its guests, including retail, entertainment, and food and beverage options throughout its first floor. The Alder’s name evokes the majestic alder tree, a part of the birch family native to the rich ecosystem of the Catskills, known for providing shelter and protection to neighboring wildlife while enriching the natural environment.

The Alder will bring to life Resorts World Catskills’ commitment to integrating its natural surroundings with a lobby that emphasizes communal spaces and incorporates the outdoor beauty of the Catskills region through textures and visual elements. The 101 guest rooms will feature the modern amenities that discerning travelers expect from the destination resort, including hotel amenities from Malin+Goetz, signature design details that marry the modern glamour of the casino resort with the sweeping scenic views, and guest-customized personal service.

“Like its name, which was said to know the past, present, and future, The Alder at Resorts World Catskills will symbolize the commitment to returning the region to its roots as an iconic American destination while also helping to grow its future and expand the range of experiences we are able to offer our guests,” said Ryan Eller, President & CEO of Resorts World Catskills.

The Alder will offer a distinct hospitality experience while serving as an extension of the existing scenic destination resort campus, providing guests full access to the services and amenities of Resorts World Catskills including 100,000 square feet of gaming space, 10 dynamic dining experiences and the Crystal Life Spa. Guests of The Alder will also have full access to the luxury indoor pool and fitness center within the Resorts World Catskills hotel.

The Alder marks the next phase in the growth of Resorts World Catskills. In addition to the hotel, The Alder will feature a dining and an entertainment venue for resort guests, which will be announced in the coming weeks.

JCJ Architecture served as the interior and exterior architect for The Alder project. Given its role in the design and development of the Resorts World Catskills hotel casino complex, JCJ has seamlessly integrated The Alder into the design aesthetic of the campus.

“Similar to our approach to the design of Resorts World Catskills, our objective for The Alder was to reflect the natural beauty of the Catskills,” said Danae Tinsely, NCIDQ, Project Manager, at JCJ Architecture. “Interior and exterior elements of the The Alder incorporate textures and colors from the landscape of the Catskills and create a dynamic balance between rustic charm and modern comfort.”

The destination resort at which Resorts World Catskills is located will continue its expansion in 2019 with the addition of two new offerings, The Kartrite Hotel and Indoor Waterpark and a Rees Jones-redesigned golf course.
