On Tuesday, August 13, 2019, Resorts World Catskills was informed that the kosher certificate that was displayed in the 24/7 Bistro was not the correct documentation needed to exhibit to guests that the restaurant carried and sold packaged and sealed kosher meals. The 24/7 Bistro had carried kosher products from La Cuisine Restaurant in Brooklyn, NY in the past and had changed distributers when they closed their doors last year. The restaurant did not take down the original certificate, was which an oversight. When Resorts World Catskills was made aware of the concern, we immediately corrected the issue. The restaurant updated the proper documentation that was displayed to reflect the sealed kosher meals that are currently available to purchase, which is prepared by Meal Mart/ MilMar Food Group and are under the supervision of the Kashruth Division of the Orthodox Union, as seen attached.
In addition, our executive chef has met with the Director of Kosher Law from the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets this morning to ensure that we are providing all of the necessary documentation moving forward. We apologize if there was any confusion regarding the kosher food we were offering. We are an inclusive property that takes pride in welcoming guests from all walks of life and work diligently to make each person feel accommodated and comfortable.
