The 48th Annual 98.3 WSUL Heart-A-Thon, hosted at Resorts World Catskills, brought together residents, local organizations, and healthcare advocates to raise more than $90,000 in support of heart health initiatives across Sullivan County.
Held in honor of American Heart Month, the event featured a full day of community programming including a health fair, blood drive, and fundraising benefiting six local organizations focused on prevention, education, and treatment programs. Resorts World Catskills has hosted the Heart-A-Thon for the past five years, providing space for the gathering and ongoing support through its RW Gives community investment program.
As part of this year’s event, RW Gives donated $15,000 to the cause. Community members also contributed through heart and T-shirt sales in the resort lobby, raising more than $4,000, while Resorts World Catskills team members raised nearly $1,000 through additional fundraising efforts and participation in Wear Red Day.
“The 48th annual 98.3 WSUL Heart-A-Thon was an overwhelming success, even with challenging weather across Sullivan County,” said Les Kristt, Committee Chair for the WSUL Heart-A-Thon. “Our community once again came together in support of heart health. We are grateful to our partners at Resorts World Catskills for providing an incredible venue, supporting the event financially, and helping make this legacy community effort possible.”
“Resorts World Catskills has been proud to host the Heart-A-Thon for the past five years,” said Meghan Taylor, SVP Government Affairs & Public Relations, Genting New York. “This event brings the Sullivan County community together around an important cause, and we are honored to support programs that promote prevention, education, and treatment for better heart health across the region.”
“On behalf of Bold Gold Media, we would like to thank Resorts World Catskills for their support of the 98.3 WSUL Heart-A-Thon,” said Dawn Ciorciari, General Manager of Bold Gold Media’s New York Region. “Their partnership and generosity have helped expand this event and make it accessible to the entire Sullivan County community.”
Community leaders, organizers, and Resorts World Catskills team members celebrate the success of the 48th Annual 98.3 WSUL Heart-A-Thon, which raised more than $90,000 for heart health initiatives across Sullivan County.
The event’s Health Fair featured 26 vendors offering resources, screenings, and information centered on heart health and wellness. In addition, a blood drive with the New York Blood Center resulted in 49 donations, potentially helping save up to 147 lives, as each pint of blood can benefit three patients.
Funds raised from the Heart-A-Thon support programs throughout Sullivan County, including mental health services, nutrition education for middle school students, teen wellness initiatives, and medical equipment for local healthcare providers.
With another successful year complete, organizers are already looking ahead to the 49th Annual WSUL Heart-A-Thon, continuing a decades-long tradition of supporting community health in Sullivan County.
