EMPIRE RESORTS, INC. HOSTS VENDOR EVENT IN ORANGE COUNTY FOR MONTREIGN RESORT CASINO

PROCESS FOR BECOMING A VENDOR, MWBE OPPORTUNITIES DISCUSSED

GOSHEN, N.Y., (December 9, 2016) — Empire Resorts, Inc. hosted a vendor outreach event on Dec. 7 for businesses interested in providing commodities, goods and professional services to the Montreign Resort Casino.

More than 300 people came from Orange, Sullivan, Ulster, Duchess counties, and beyond, and packed the Orange County Emergency Services Center auditorium on Wells Farm Road where the event was held. Businesses represented in the audience included food and beverages, furniture supply, landscaping, trash and recycling removal, telecommunications, security, office equipment and technology companies, among others.

Charles A. Degliomini, Executive Vice President of Empire Resorts, Inc., the parent company of Montreign, explained to participants how they could become competitive vendors for the project. Businesses would have to go through an application process before they could bid to be awarded a contract with Montreign, he said, and while excellence in product and services is key, competitive pricing is just as important.

“Montreign is an extraordinary opportunity for local companies from the entire surrounding region to connect with us so they can benefit from this project,” said Degliomini. “If it exists in any other hotel or casino, we are probably going to want to buy it too. We need everything you can imagine to operate our over 1.5 million square foot resort casino.”

Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus attended the vendor outreach event and encouraged Orange County residents to do business with Montreign.

“There’s a lot of opportunity here,” said Neuhaus. “The County is pleased to partner with Montreign to make sure our local companies have the opportunity to compete for these new vendor opportunities.”

Director of Purchasing Dorothy Higgins discussed the procurement process, and offered details and clarification to the potential vendors.

“We know what we want to buy, so that makes things easier for you,” Higgins said. “We are going to give you as much information as possible to make the process user friendly and understandable.”

“We want to do business with people in our own back yard,” said Degliomini. “And especially want to do business with all qualified New York vendors, including New York certified minority and women-owned businesses.”

He encouraged businesses to visit the Montreign Resort Casino website at https://montreign.com/vendors and start the application process.

“We don’t know your business exist unless you raise your hand and say, ‘We’re here,’” Degliomini said.
