Resorts World Catskills Celebrates a Year of Giving Back to the Community

Monticello, New York – This holiday season, Resorts World Catskills (RWC) is celebrating a year of giving back to the local community. During a time when many families across the state continue to struggle due to the Covid-19 pandemic, RWC is proud to have donated nearly $200,000 to 50 organizations across the region throughout 2021.

“At Resorts World Catskills, we take tremendous pride in being a good neighbor and we are honored to support organizations that provide critical services to the community,” said Meghan Taylor, Vice President, Government Affairs & Public Relations, Genting New York. “This past year, we have seen the Catskills community come together to support those in need, just as this region has done for decades. It’s in that spirit that we are proud to play a role in making the Catskills an incredible place to live, work, and play!”

RWC was the presenting sponsor of the Access: Supports for Living annual Charity Golf Outing, donating $25,000 to help Access provide its high-quality services to those who need it most.

Thanks to RWC’s generous donation of $15,000 to The Arc Greater Hudson Valley, the organization was able to purchase 38 iPads for use in its family-style homes and apartments to give residents access to telehealth visits, and the ability to communicate with the nursing staff 24/7 as needed. In addition, the iPads will help facilitate essential visits with their families through video communication programs, which is critical for mental & physical well-being, especially while we continue to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

RWC’s donation of $10,000 to the Town of Wallkill Boys & Girls Club will go towards general program funding to support the local club in changing the lives of Orange and Sullivan County youth.

Garnet Health Medical Center in Orange County got help in buying a portable echo cardiogram machine for the Cardiopulmonary Department at both the Harris and Callicoon campuses through RWC’s $5,000 gift (through the annual 98.3 WSUL Heart-A-Thon).

Other recipients of RWC’s generosity include:

  • A Single Bite
  • American Cancer Society
  • Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan
  • Food Bank of the Hudson Valley
  • Hudson Valley Honor Flight
  • Liberty Rotary Club
  • Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital
  • Sullivan County Federation for the Homeless
  • Sullivan County Veterans Coalition
  • Toys for Tots

These gifts were made possible through Resorts World Gives, RWC’s corporate philanthropic program, which supports innovative organizations with clear goals and proven results. To learn more, visit rwcatskills.com/resorts-world-gives/.

2021 was also an exciting time for Resorts World Catskill’s leadership. Robert DeSalvio, President of Genting Americas East, was recently awarded one of the Sullivan Catskills Visitors Association’s 2021 Tourism Awards. DeSalvio took home the STAR Award for Individual Achievement, which is given to an individual who is knowledgeable about the business they represent and the Sullivan Catskills in general, while instilling a personal touch to visitors’ experiences

Resorts World Catskills is looking forward to 2022, with new and exciting promotions rolling out each month. There’s also plenty of entertainment on the calendar, including February’s Andy Grammer concert at the RW Epicenter. Tickets are still available. Looking for a cozy winter getaway?
