Catskills, NY – Resorts World Catskills (RWC) announced today it helped Hudson Valley Gives raise more than $600,000 during its “Give Where You Live” event on Wednesday, May 18. Hosted by the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan (CFOS), the event unites hundreds of charities across seven counties.
“This is always such an amazing and successful event, and this year was no different,” said Meghan Taylor, Vice President Government Affairs and Public Relations, Resorts World Catskills and Resorts World New York City. “More than two years into the pandemic, people are still seriously struggling and we’re happy to step in and lend a helping hand. Our neighbors in the Hudson Valley always have our support.”
3,351 donors and 164 organizations raised $614,520. The money helps to fund critical services like food pantries and aid for the homeless and life-enhancing programs like music, dance, and art programs.
A platinum sponsor of this year’s event, RWC awarded seven $700 prizes to organizations chosen at random with spins of the virtual roulette wheel. The winners include: the Newburgh Urban Farm and Food Initiative, the Kiwanis Club of Chester Foundation, the Warwick Valley Humane Society, the Somers Library Foundation, the Middletown Business and Professional Women’s Club, All for the Love of Whiskers and Rumshock Veterans Foundation.
Hudson Valley Gives takes place every May to support hundreds of nonprofits throughout the region. For more information or to make a gift, visit hvgives.org.
