Season of Giving Helps Hundreds of Children, Parents and Families in Need Throughout Upstate New York

Resorts World Catskills (RWC) and Resorts World Hudson Valley (RWHV) today announced its community activations throughout the holidays across Orange and Sullivan counties through the end of 2024. The series of robust initiatives reflect the properties ongoing commitment to community empowerment throughout the year.

“Resorts World has been a steadfast community partner in Orange and Sullivan counties since we opened our doors there,” said Meghan Taylor, Senior Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Relations at Resorts World. “Our holiday initiatives are driven by our goal to empower the amazing organizations that build this community throughout the year. What stands out is that many of our efforts are led by our amazing staff, who come from the communities we serve, to facilitate these engagements.”

The properties are sponsoring a variety of holiday gifting programs in partnership with the Town of Newburgh Police Department, Fearless! Hudson Valley, Town of Wallkill Boys and Girls Club, Hudson Valley Toys for Tots, and RECAP. Collectively these efforts led by Resorts World’s staff will help nearly 150 children, parents and families in need.

The company is collecting food and clothing this holiday season in collaboration with Center for Victim Safety and Support at Family Services. In addition, Resorts World is a corporate sponsor of the organization, contributing $5,000 this year to help bring mental health support to children in the Hudson Valley.

RWC and RWHV have purchased hundreds of dollars in essential supplies for the Hudson Valley SPCA and Sullivan County SPCA along with a $5,000 donation towards their Capital Campaign for shelter improvements. Staff from both properties regularly volunteer at these ‘no kill’ animal sanctuary and rescue organizations.

Resorts World is a proud community partner in the Catskill and Hudson Valley region throughout the year and especially during the holidays. Earlier this month, RWC hosted Hudson Valley Honor Flight’s annual Lunch of Honor for the third straight year. The event welcomed proximately 750 guests, many of whom were veterans of World War II and the Korean, Cold, Vietnam, and Afghan and Iraq wars.

Since Resorts World first began operations in New York State, the company’s philanthropic arm RW Gives has invested more than $5 million to over 300 community organizations to help build up their neighbors.
