Resorts World Catskills presents $5,000 donation to support the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan during Hudson Valley Gives 2021.
Monticello, N.Y. – Resorts World Catskills (RWC) today announced it was one of dozens of organizations that helped Hudson Valley Gives raise more than $600,000 during its “Give Where You Live” event. The 24-hour fundraising blitz, hosted by the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan (CFOS), took place on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, uniting hundreds of charities across seven counties. The donations will help fund critical services like food pantries and aid for the homeless and life-enhancing programs like music, dance, and art programs.
In keeping with the spirit of the day, RWC presented a check for $5,000 to the Orange and Sullivan Covid-19 Response Fund, which CFOS launched to address the immediate and longer-term needs of residents in those counties. RWC also partnered with Hudson Valley Gives as a Platinum Sponsor this year and helped to encourage donations and participation by serving as a location for CFOS staff to broadcast live via Facebook for part of the day.
“We are proud to join our neighbors in the Hudson Valley in stepping up to help others when they need it the most,” said Meghan Taylor, Vice President Government Affairs and Public Relations, Resorts World Catskills & Resorts World New York City. “This is an outstanding way to give back to our community and show our appreciation for all the wonderful organizations in the area by helping boost their visibility.”
“We always look forward to this amazing event and are thrilled to announce that Hudson Valley Gives 2021 was an enormous success,” said Elizabeth Rowley, President & CEO, Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan. “We raised over $600,000 from 3,796 donors and 180 organizations, surpassing the amount raised last year by more than $100,000.
Hudson Valley Gives takes place every May to support hundreds of nonprofits throughout the region.
